Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 2026
Cresthill Academy ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website cresthillacademy.com (the "Website") and provides licensed daycare and preschool services to children ages 6 weeks through kindergarten readiness at locations in Hoboken, Harrison, East Hanover, Lyndhurst, Paramus, and Parsippany, New Jersey.
Because we serve young children and their families, we take privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have. By using our Website or enrolling your child in our programs, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide Directly
When you interact with us — through contact forms, tour scheduling, enrollment inquiries, or direct communication — we may collect:
- Parent or guardian names
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Mailing addresses
- Children's names, ages, and dates of birth
- Information about your child's health, allergies, dietary needs, or special requirements (provided during enrollment)
- Emergency contact information
- Any other information you choose to share with us in forms or correspondence
b. Children's Information
As a childcare provider, we collect limited information about enrolled children as part of our services. This includes names, ages, health and allergy information, and daily photos and videos captured by our staff. We do not collect personal information directly from children through our Website. See Section 9 (COPPA Compliance) for additional details.
c. Photos, Videos & Media
Our staff regularly photographs and records short videos of children throughout the day to document activities, learning experiences, and milestones. This media is used in two ways:
- Internal (parent communication): Daily photos and videos are shared with parents and guardians of enrolled children through our secure school communication app. This is part of our standard program communication.
- External (marketing): With parental consent, we may use select photos, videos, or testimonials on our website, social media channels, and other marketing materials to share the Cresthill Academy experience with prospective families.
Consent for external marketing use is requested separately during enrollment and is always voluntary. Parents may opt out of or revoke marketing consent at any time by contacting their location director or emailing us — doing so will not affect enrollment or quality of care. We do not use children's full names alongside photos in marketing materials without specific consent, and we do not sell children's photos or videos to any third party. Only authorized staff may photograph children using school-provided devices; personal device photography of children by staff is prohibited during working hours.
d. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our Website, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages visited and time spent on each page, referring website or source, and general geographic location (city/region level, not precise location).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal and regulatory requirements (including New Jersey childcare licensing record-keeping obligations), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
9. COPPA Compliance
Cresthill Academy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our Website is directed to parents and guardians, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our Website.
The children's information we maintain (names, ages, health data, photos, and videos) is collected from parents and guardians as part of the enrollment process and daily childcare operations — not through online collection from children.
If you believe that personal information about a child under 13 has been collected through our Website without parental consent, please contact us immediately at [email protected], and we will promptly investigate and delete the information if appropriate.
10. New Jersey Privacy Rights
If you are a New Jersey resident, you may have additional rights under applicable state law, including the right to know what personal information we collect about you and how it is used, the right to request access to your personal information, the right to request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain exceptions), and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 14 below.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. These include the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share; the right to delete your personal information; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
To submit a request, please contact us at [email protected]. We will verify your identity before processing any request and respond within the timeframes required by law.
12. Right to Deletion
You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected about you or your child. Upon receiving a verifiable request, we will delete your information from our records and direct our service providers to do the same, unless the information is necessary to complete a transaction or fulfill a service you requested, comply with a legal obligation, detect or protect against fraud or security incidents, support internal research or analytics that does not harm your privacy, or exercise or defend legal claims.
To submit a deletion request, email [email protected] with the subject line "Deletion Request."
13. Email Communications & Opt-Out
We may send you emails related to your child's enrollment, account updates, and operational communications (these are transactional and cannot be opted out of while enrolled). We may also send marketing and promotional emails about our programs, events, and offers. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email or by contacting us at [email protected].
